Bonehead

Bonehead is a body of work exploring the bald head from inside and out.

Ian Paterson was born in London and is currently living and working in Brighton. He completed a two year foundation course at Harrow School of Art, before studying fine art at Chelsea School of Art in the mid 1970’s. From the Sex Pistols first live performance to visits from David Hockney, Chelsea felt like the place to be.

It was at this time that Ian Paterson perfected his painting style and techniques. A rigorous technician and artist, Paterson labours as long as it takes to achieve the almost air brush quality of his paintings. Paterson’s devotion to his unique technique lends an intensity to the artwork itself.

Ian Paterson has exhibited and sold his work throughout the UK with private collectors in London, Paris and New York.
